She now periodically conducts peer-education seminars, being committed to the importance of education and the sharing of knowledge.

Kyle’s expertise in Dietary Therapy developed through a variety of sources and is a vital part of her clinical practice. In her childhood, her parents ran a weekend catering company, where she formed her initial interest in things culinary. The company produced a wide variety of foods from many different cultures, including: French, Italian, Greek, Chinese, Indian and Japanese, depending on the occasion. Weekends were often spent in the kitchen peeling vegetables, rolling spring-rolls, filling cannelloni, battering croquettes, frying papadams, making mousaka, stirring fried-rice, etc, and slowly absorbing the aromas, textures and colours of international cuisine. In 1989, Kyle spent a year working as a chef in Laurie’s Vegetarian Restaurant in Darlinghurst, Sydney, while simultaneously studying remedial massage therapy. (It was a busy year!). Kyle now publishes delicious recipes and photographs on YUM-OH Food Photography blog: http://yum-oh.blogspot.comIn 1990, Kyle established her first clinic in Wagga Wagga, in rural NSW. Committed to ongoing professional development, Kyle studied Classical Hatha Yoga at the Forest School of Yoga from 1990 and Tai Qi from 1993. She completed an accredited course in Teaching & Learning for Adult Education in 1993, and a VETAB accredited course in Counseling Skills in 1994. During the early years of practice, Kyle was fortunate to have the guidance of several professional mentors, including: Jaqueline Walsh, Val Clark, Toni Jewell, Will Adlong and Steven Peterson. In 1995 she returned to Sydney to study Traditional Chinese Medicine, receiving her Bachelor of Health Science in Acupuncture from the University of Technology Sydney in 1998, where she received the Chinaherb Graduate 1st Prize for academic excellence in Traditional Chinese Medicine. She completed her Masters of Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine at the University of Technology, Sydney in 2001. The use of Palpation as a diagnostic and treatment tool has always been an area of particular interest. Her skill in this area developed from a variety of sources and has remained a key feature of her clinical practice. The initial development of this interest in ‘touch sensitivity’ began with three years training as a sculptor and multimedia artist at the University of New South Wales College of Fine Arts, (COFA) where she was awarded a Bachelor of Fine Art in 1988, and through her early massage therapy training. This skill has since become refined through what is now more than 18 years of clinical practice. Kyle is a keen photographer and has made a book of photographs about her travels in China. Kyle currently owns and manages the Natural Health Clinic of Traditional East Asian Medicine in Annandale, Sydney, where she practices and provides a professional consultancy service for individuals, groups and organizations in the learning of skills for health care. |
